The “Next Generation” plans for the LOCARD® Evidence Tracking System will be launched on 12 June 2007. In light of NPIA initiatives, regional policing and recent developments in technology, this transitional programme will provide a LOCARD® system that can rapidly adapt to the demands of Evidence tracking over the next 5-8 years.

LOCARD® Version 6.5 increases the robustness of LOCARD® Version 6 baseline and brings enhancements to continuity and CRIMSEC 38 Reporting to the Home Office.

LOCARD® Version 6 has successfully been released. This latest release has increased the capability provided to users through enhancements to functionality and changes to make the system easier to use. Specifically the enhancements provide:

Better user control of standing data (drop down lists etc)

Prioritisation of search results

Retrospective merge of incidents

Enhanced navigation through parts of the system

More control of data

Additional “receipt” reporting
